The web has seen a quiet revolution within dating on line over the last 10 years, once the web was the home of the young and the few older people using it were referred to as silver surfers, but all this has changed. Far from the toy of the intellectual, these days we all are addicted to it, used for everything from business, to communicating with friends, and to the preferred tool for dating of all ages. Coinciding with this growth we have also seen the growth of dating for more and more mature people, and so it comes as no surprise that online dating agencies have exploited this market, but not without problems. As with all emerging markets a great many companies moving in have tended to work with broad-brush strokes and a great many assumptions have been made.
In their rush to join this emerging market too many dating agencies have built sites and services aimed at the 40 plus, or mature, market with little or no thought. And this has resulted in 100’s of new ‘mature dating’ sites that really are trying to be everything to everyone, a maid of all work that lets everyone down. So why do these sites let us down, the companies in this market have failed to see that something that is good for a 40 plus year old has little to do with a person in their late 50’s, and then when you compare this with someone who say is 65 plus, well it becomes obvious really. Actually what’s required is three new sorts of websites, 40 plus, mature dating and senior dating, then you need to join the one best suited to your outlook on life, not your age.
First take a 45 year old male, is he {really looking to date someone of his own agebest suited by dating within his own age group}, or a women a good few years younger than him? As you never know, he still is more than young enough to start a family, and so it’s not his rage, rather his needs and outlook that determine a mature site, or a general dating site. Now lets look at a 52 year old woman, is she going to be best served by a mature site with people of her own age, or because of her outlook best served looking at a senior dating site, again only she will know. Finally now lets take the 68 year old man, retired and looking for friendship, would they really be happy as members of a site full of 40 and 50 year olds, all working full time and still driven to achieve more in life?
All of this leads to you needing to do a lot of looking around at different sites before you decide on the right one for you. And now with most websites are now free to try out for a period this research is only going to cost you time, not your cash. Seniors dating should look towards sites that hold a large membership of senior people, rather than sites full of mature, but younger members. Now with the rest of the mature market they should be taking a look at sites that relate to their lifestyle and outlook on life, not always their age. The internet has achieved a loyal following because it delivers answers quickly, but for you to find the perfect online dating website, you will need to be prepared to put time into research, and remember fools rush in!
